Robert Basl
Manager, Environmental Consulting

Mr. Basl is the Manager of Environmental Consulting for EHS. His background is in mechanical and environmental engineering. Currently, his emphasis is on managing facility-wide regulatory compliance projects for a number of industrial clients involving a variety of environmental issues. These projects include process evaluations of air and water pollution control systems, BAT/BACT determinations, hazardous waste management, air pollution emission inventories, asbestos identification and remediation, SARA Title III compliance, process air/water permitting, and ISO 14001 implementation. His experience also includes the design of industrial ventilation systems, with special emphasis on air pollution control projects. In addition, he has acted as a liaison with local, state and federal regulatory agencies in environmental compliance matters.

 

Sandra K. Burnham
Project Technician

Ms. Burnham is the technical assistant on many projects such as Environmental Assessments. At EHS, she has been included in over 250 Phase I Site Assessments since starting at the company 8 years ago. Ms. Burnham handles all aspects of Phase Assessment report generation having also been trained at the ASTM E-1527-00 for Phase I's and ASTM E-1528-00 for Transaction Screens courses. Ms. Burnham also performs historical research (including aerial photos, city document researches and site research) for each Phase I and Transaction Screen by EHS. Many of the Environmental Assessments have been located in states such as Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and Michigan. Ms. Burnham has also assisted in the facilitation of a HAZOP study and has assisted in with recording system information of an on-going water remedation project in Ohio.

 

J. Michael Clinch, Ph.D.
Senior Geologist/Environmental Analyst

Dr. Clinch is an environmental geologist whose primary responsibility is the collection and analysis of geological, hydrogeological and geochemical data in support of Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, Phase II Environmental Site Investigations, Phase III Remedial Investigations and the conceptual design of soil and ground-water remediation systems. He assists in the design of the scope of work for these investigations, and is the lead field investigator responsible for completing the scope of work and proper collection of the needed data. Dr Clinch has also developed long-term ground-water monitoring programs, and is responsible for data management, statistical data analysis and communications with regulatory agencies for these projects. Dr. Clinch has collaborated in the development of the standard operating protocols used by EHS Technology in the collection of field data.

 

Carlynn D. Gueltig
Accounting

Ms. Gueltig is the person in charge of all accounts receivable and payable at EHS.

 

Gregory A. Hemker
Principal

Mr. Hemker has extensive experience in Environmental and Facility Engineering. Initial experiences have been focused on the design and construction of industrial and institutional steam heating plants, industrial ventilation, air pollution control, and HVAC systems. In recent years he has managed the environmental affairs for numerous facilities which has involved the areas of air pollution, hazardous waste, resource recovery, water pollution, industrial hygiene and ISO 14001 implementation. As Principal-in-Charge in these tasks he was involved in project development, consultant, design engineering, specification preparation, and facility/regulatory liaison.

 

Alison C. Hudson
Geologist/Geophysicist

Ms. Hudson is a geologist/geophysicist with experience in evaluating and interpreting geophysical techniques and data as it relates to subsurface stratigraphy and contamination. Most recently she has reviewed resistivity, conductivity and magnetometer surveys performed to assess the extent of construction and demolition debris. Previously she has employed ground penetrating radar to map indian effigy mounds and seismic refraction to delineate the extent and continuity of aquitards. Ms. Hudson's responsibilities have included preparation of proposals, budgets, project schedules and technical reports. She has planned and performed site investigations for commercial, industrial, and state-regulated hazardous waste sites to gather geologic, hydrogeologic and chemical data. She has evaluated such data to prepare summary reports for property transfers and closure plans, assessment/monitoring plans and remediation plans for state-regulated hazardous waste sites. Ms. Hudson has negotiated with state agencies on behalf of clients entering into investigations, remediations and consent orders.

 

Michael D. Morris
Manager, Environmental & Geological Investigations

Mr. Morris is a qualified environmental geologist and project manager with over 20 years experience in the environmental field. He has extensive experience in: site assessment investigations related to property transfers; evaluations of spills and leaking underground storage tanks (USTs); landfill siteing and monitoring, injection well and RCRA unit monitoring, and permits-to-install; spill remediations; lagoon closures; surface and deep mine reclamation; slope stability; water supply wells; RCRA closure investigations and closures; CERCLA investigations and removal actions; regulatory negotiations; project budget accounting; personnel and subcontractor supervision; testimony in litigation; and drilling technology. He has worked on projects in 18 states.

 

Donald J. Niederkorn
Principal

Mr. Niederkorn has been involved in Environmental Engineering for over 35 years. Following a four year duty assignment with the Air Forces' Bio-Environmental Engineering group at Wright Patterson AFB, he became the first employee of the Regional Air Pollution Control Agency. During the next 14 years, Mr. Niederkorn he served as an Air Monitoring Technician, Radiation Protection Specialist, Community Noise Representative, Industrial Hygiene Representative and as an Air Pollution Control Specialist. As a consulting Environmental Specialist during the past twenty years, he has been responsible for the management of environmental affairs for numerous industrial clients, process evaluation of air and water pollution control systems, installation of large scale pollution control systems and has provided extensive environmental, health and safety regulatory liaison for his clients.

 

Holly R. Padovani
Environmental Engineer

Ms. Padovani is an environmental engineer with her education background in air, wastewater, groundwater, and hazardous materials pollution. Since joining the firm, she has been involved in a number of projects including air pollution inventories, air and water permit applications, federal operating permit applications (Title V), emissions testing protocols and supervision, NPDES applications, water antidegradation review, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan development, Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure plan development, Hazardous Waste Contingency Plan development, SARA Title III assessments and reporting, regulatory negotiations and multi-media audits. Ms. Padovani is especially familiar with environmental regulations in Ohio and Indiana.

 

William J. Search, P.E., CHMM
Manager, Environmental Process Safety

Bill is a registered professional, chemical engineer with EHS Technology Group, LLC. In his current position as Manager of Process Safety, he is responsible for a broad range of process safety services to assist in the strategic development and implementation of safety systems in a variety of industrial sectors. He also develops proactive strategies and assists in the implementation of plans, programs and systems to promote a safe work environment and to comply with the many regulatory requirements. In safety management, Bill has experience with process audits and safety reviews, Process Safety Management and Risk Management Planning assistance, process hazard analysis facilitation including Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) Studies, OSHA program development such as for lockout/tagout, confined space, respirator protection and hazard communication compliance, job safety analyses, voluntary compliance plan development, PPE assessment and planning and customized program training and implementation assistance. In addition to his safety responsibilities, Bill has an extensive background in water and waste water, oil spill prevention, hazardous waste management and other environmental issues. Before moving into the consulting field, Bill spent 20 years at several industrial locations for major chemical companies, such as Monsanto and Inmont (now BASF), textile manufacturing and foundries, in plant and project engineering and facility management positions.

Currently, Bill is involved with several facilities in the development of various safety programs. For many other companies, Bill has conducted audits of facilities making specific recommendations for modifications to plans, policies and procedures which will help the facility to become more compliant with the environmental, health and safety regulations and good management practices. He also works with clients, preparing them for implementation of ISO 14000 programs and the eventual implementation of an ISO 18000 safety program.

 

Ellen E. Stanifer
Project Engineer

Ms. Stanifer is a Project Engineer. Her experience in the environmental field includes process air and water permitting, NPDES stormwater permit applications, preparation of Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans and Storm Water Sampling Plans and SARA Title III compliance. She also has experience in conducting environmental site assessments and regulatory compliance audits. Ms. Stanifer has additional experience in emergency response to uncontrolled hazardous waste sites, remedial cleanup of hazardous waste sites, endangerment assessments, and environmental sampling. Her experience also includes work addressing health and safety issues including the use of personal protective equipment and certification for asbestos abatement.
