EHS Technology Group

Proactive environmental, health and safety management must be included in modern strategic business planning. Understanding and assessing environmental and safety risks and opportunities provides the basis for informed and defensible decision-making. EHS provides a full range of services to fulfill present and future strategic environmental, health and safety management requirements. 


EHS was formed in 1998 to provide quality, cost-effective environmental, health and safety services to industry.  Our focus is to provide quality services and to develop, long-term productive business relationships with our customers.

Robert Basl, President

Mr. Basl is one of the founders of EHS Technology Group and has worked for over 25 years as an environmental consultant. Mr. Basl received a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from the University of Dayton.  Over his career he has been involved in numerous projects involving a variety of environmental issues.  Currently, his emphasis is on managing facility-wide regulatory compliance projects for a number of industrial clients.  These projects include process evaluations of air and water pollution control systems, BACT determinations, hazardous waste management, air pollution emission inventories, SARA Title III compliance, process air/water permitting, compliance auditing and environmental/safety/quality management system implementation.

 

His experience also includes the design of industrial ventilation systems, with special emphasis on air pollution control projects.   In addition, he has acted as a liaison with local, state and federal regulatory agencies in environmental compliance matters. Mr. Basl is a certified lead auditor for several international standards, including ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.

Holly Padovani, Vice President

Ms. Padovani is one of the founders of EHS and a Project Manager with her educational back­ground in environmental engineering, including air, wastewater, groundwater, and hazardous materials pollution.  Since joining the firm, she has been involved in a number of projects for various industries.  Major industry involvement includes rubber, plastics, vinyl, automotive, printing, building materials, laminate, woodworking, pharmaceutical, welding, and various others.  Environmental consulting responsibilities include project management of air pollution projects, water and storm water pollution projects, hazardous waste projects, SARA Title III projects, regulatory negotiations, and multi-media compliance audits.  Ms. Padovani is especially familiar with environmental regulations in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. She holds a Bachelor of Science, Environmental Engineering Technology from the University of Dayton.

J. Michael Clinch, Ph.D., Senior Geologist

Dr. Clinch is one of the founders of EHS and an environmental geologist whose primary responsibility is the collection and analysis of geological, hydrogeological and geochemical data in support of Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, Phase II Environmental Site Investigations, Phase III Remedial Investigations and the conceptual design of soil and ground-water remediation systems.  He assists in the design of the scope of work for these investigations, and is the lead field investigator responsible for completing the scope of work and proper collection of the needed data. 

 

Dr. Clinch has also developed long-term ground-water monitoring programs, and is responsible for data management, statistical data analysis and communications with regulatory agencies for these projects.  Dr. Clinch has collaborated in the development of the standard operating protocols used by EHS Technology in the collection of field data since 1991.  Dr. Clinch was trained as a glacial geologist, and has fifteen years of experience in mapping and studying the distribution, composition, age and origin of unconsolidated deposits in a wide variety of settings. His educational experience includes: Doctorate of Philosophy, Geology, Bachelor of Science, Civil Engineering, and a Bachelor of Science, Environmental Sciences and Resource Management. Dr. Clinch is a registered Professional Geologist in the State of Kentucky.

Gregory Hemker, Principal Consultant

Mr. Hemker is one of the founders of EHS Technology Group, LLC.  He has over 40 years of experience in environmental engineering and management. Mr. Hemker obtained a Masters Degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Cincinnati and is a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM).  His principle fields of expertise are air pollution, hazardous waste, and hazardous chemical management. He has conducted numerous environmental management training seminars throughout the U.S. and China.

 

In recent years Mr. Hemker has focused on consulting with manufacturing industries to solve problems associated with air pollution, water pollution, hazardous waste, oil and chemical spill prevention, chemical safety, and industrial hygiene. Mr. Hemker is a RAB trained lead auditor and has been developing and implementing ISO 14001, 9001 and OHSAS 18001 management systems since the adoption of the Standards.

Isaiah Sauvageau, Project Engineer

Mr. Sauvageau is an early-career professional with a diverse background. He has held positions in environmental research, digital business processes, and EHS program management. He obtained both Bachelors and Masters degrees in Environmental Engineering from Drexel University. Mr. Sauvageau previously served as an EHS Engineer for an organic chemical manufacturer. Notably, he managed the Large Quantity Generator’s hazardous waste disposal program, performed site-wide safety training, executed industrial hygiene studies, and acted as primary support for HAZWOPER events. His projects with EHS Technology Group include SARA Title III reporting, air permitting, and environmental compliance. He has exposure to EHS Assessments, OSHA PSM, and TSCA/RoHS Product Stewardship.

Beatrice Cook, Office Manager

Ms. Cook is responsible for management of EHS's daily operations. Key functions include: accounts payable/accounts receivable activities, human resources and benefits administration, billing, payroll, and financial reporting.
